Now, for some boring facts about the person behind this journal:

My name is Katrina, but most people refer to me as Kat.

I'm 18 years old, just recently out of high school. (Woohoo!)

I live with Ian, my fiance. - Gasp! Choke! Sputter! An engaged 18 year old?! - Yes. Whether you want to believe it or not, I really do care about him. He's a very sweet guy, but he's also morbid and I just enjoy being around him. He's a very, very talented writer.

Though I absolutely adore dogs, I'm actually more of a "ferret-person." I have five of my own which have been dubbed Wraith, Diablo, Kali, Cain, and Tyreal. (Ian likes to believe that Cain and Tyreal are his.)

I love to write. For the past few years I've been working on my own series of stories. One of my dreams in life is to finish them and have them up on the shelves one day. I'm also an artist and I often draw the characters in my stories. You can see some of my work at Elfwood. My icons are usually from pictures I've drawn.

My taste in music is rather diverse. Possibly the only kinds of music I don't like are rap (rap-metal included) and pop. My favorite bands are Guns N' Roses, Queen, Type O Negative, Dissection, The Cure, Stabbing Westward, and Metallica.

I'm simply fascinated by mythology. In particular, I love Celtic mythology and the Celts in general. I love the music, the knots, and what is known about their culture. Part of me wanted to be an archaeologist simply so that I could delve more into their history.

History itself has become an interesting topic to me. (Once upon a time, I hated it with a passion.) I'm not one for events that are more current, however. (I'm not a big fan of WWI and WWII.) I like the high Middle Ages, the Renaissance, The Scientific Revolution, and the Enlightenment. The Medieval period itself is very interesting because many see it in terms of a fantasy world rather than for what it truly was.
